Nikka 17 Year Pure Malt Japanese Whisky stands as a celebrated icon in Japanese whisky history. Introduced by the esteemed Nikka distillery, this expression pays homage to founder Masataka Taketsuru, a pioneer who studied whisky making in Scotland before bringing his expertise back to Japan. The bottle’s label features the bold (Taketsuru) kanji, underlining its tribute to his legacy. First released in the early 2000s, Nikka 17 rapidly became a symbol of Japanese whisky’s global ascent, often sought after by collectors due to its limited availability and accolades at international competitions. With 17 years of maturation, it represents a significant era of Nikka’s innovation and dedication to quality, making it a prized piece for any serious enthusiast.
