Adult Signature Required
All shipments require an adult signature (21+ years old) at the time of delivery. Someone 21 or older must be present with a valid government-issued photo ID to receive your order.
Shipping Laws
You are responsible for abiding by all State and local laws, rules, and regulations of your State pertaining to the receipt of alcoholic beverages from out of state. You additionally represent you have obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, are working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, and are legally entitled to take possession of the alcoholic beverages. You further represent you are legally entitled to take possession of the quantities ordered, and that you and the person accepting delivery of the alcoholic beverages are at least 21 years of age.
- By making a purchase on Whiskey Source, you are asking us to appoint a common carrier and arrange for transportation on your behalf for the delivery of alcoholic beverages and any other purchased merchandise to you. By making use of this service from Whiskey Source, you are representing you are acting in agreement with your local and State laws regarding the purchase, transportation, and delivery of alcoholic beverages. Accordingly, we make no representations or warranties concerning the legal requirements of shipping alcoholic beverages to your State. As such, you understand and acknowledge you are accountable and liable for compliance with all laws concerning such shipments to your State, and you further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Whiskey Source LLC its agents, officers, directors, shareholders, and employees, from any and all claims, demands, damages, liability whatsoever, whether in tort, contract, or otherwise, arising out of the shipment of alcoholic beverages to your State, including any and all claims that such shipment may violate any federal, state, or local regulation pertaining to the sale and shipment of alcoholic beverages.
Title to Goods
Laws concerning the sale and shipping of alcoholic beverages are complex and vary from State to State. Accordingly, you will be the legal owner of the goods when your funds have been processed and received, and all or any holds have been cleared. Title to all alcoholic beverages purchased on this Site pass to you in the State of Washington DC when the goods are picked up by the common carrier.
Shipping Restrictions
We cannot ship to the following:
- P.O. Boxes or USPS postal facilities
- International addresses (outside the United States)
- APO/FPO/DPO military addresses
- States where direct-to-consumer alcohol shipments are prohibited
- Addresses where we cannot verify legal compliance
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on:
- Package weight and dimensions
- Shipping destination
- Service level dependent on the total value of the order
The exact shipping cost will be displayed before you complete your purchase. We do not inflate shipping costs - you pay only the actual carrier rates.
Processing & Delivery Times
Order Processing
Shop Orders: Most orders are processed and shipped within 2-3 business days after payment confirmation.
Auction Wins: Auction items are typically processed and shipped within 2-3 business days after payment is received.

Packaging & Handling
We take great care in packaging your bottles to ensure they arrive safely:
- We pack each bottle extremely carefully to avoid any damage in transit
- We only use the most durable packing and shipping materials available
Tracking Your Order
Once your order ships, you will receive:
- Shipping confirmation email with tracking number
- Real-time tracking updates from the provided shipping carrier
- Estimated delivery date
- Delivery notifications when your package is out for delivery
You can track your shipment directly through your Whiskey Source account or by using the tracking number on the provided shipping carrier website.
Delivery Requirements
Adult Signature Required (21+)
Federal and state laws require an adult signature for all alcohol deliveries. The person receiving the package must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Be present at the delivery address
- Provide valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc.)
- Sign for the package in person
Missed Deliveries
If no one is available to sign for the delivery:
- The shipping carrier will leave a delivery notice and attempt redelivery
- You can arrange to pick up the package at a local shipping carrier facility
- You may be able to schedule a delivery time through the shipping carrier's website
- After 3 delivery attempts, packages are returned to us
Note: If a package is returned due to failed delivery attempts, you will be responsible for return shipping costs and may be charged a restocking fee.
Damaged or Lost Shipments
Damaged Packages
If your shipment arrives damaged:
- Document the damage with photos (box exterior, interior, and bottle)
- Note any damage on the delivery receipt
- Contact us immediately by visiting our Contact Us page
- Retain all packaging materials for carrier inspection
We will work with you to file an insurance claim and arrange for a replacement or refund.
Lost Packages
If your tracking shows delivery but you didn't receive the package, or if the package appears lost in transit, contact us immediately. We will initiate a carrier investigation and work to resolve the issue promptly.
Weather & Temperature Considerations
We monitor weather conditions and may delay shipments during extreme temperatures to protect your bottles:
- Extreme Heat: We may hold shipments during heat waves to prevent damage from high temperatures
- Extreme Cold: Freezing temperatures can affect bottle contents and packaging
- Severe Weather: Hurricanes, blizzards, and other severe weather may cause carrier delays
If we delay your shipment due to weather, we will notify you via email. Your safety and the integrity of your bottles are our top priorities.
Shipping FAQs
Can I ship to a different address than my billing address?
Yes, you can specify a different shipping address during checkout. However, both addresses must be verifiable and meet our shipping requirements.
Can I have my order shipped to my workplace?
Yes, as long as someone 21+ will be available to provide ID and sign for the delivery during business hours.
Do you offer free shipping?
We occasionally offer free or discounted shipping promotions. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified of special offers.
Can I change my shipping address after placing an order?
If your order hasn't shipped yet, contact us immediately and we'll try to update the address. Once shipped, address changes must be made through the shipping carrier directly.
How long will my tracking number take to become active?
Tracking information typically updates within 24 hours of receiving your shipping confirmation email.
Do you ship internationally?
No, we currently only ship within the United States due to international shipping regulations for alcohol.
