Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 20 Year, released in 2011, is an extraordinary piece of bourbon history. Bottled at 90.4 proof, this rare release hails from the legendary Stitzel-Weller Distillery, a name revered by collectors and enthusiasts. The label features the iconic image of Julian “Pappy” Van Winkle, whose legacy shaped American whiskey during the 20th century. Stitzel-Weller’s unique wheated bourbon mashbill was central to the character of these sought-after releases. The 2011 vintage represents one of the final years when true Stitzel-Weller stocks were used, making it a cornerstone for any serious bourbon collection.
