The 2012 release of the 13-year-old Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye is primarily a blend of older sourced rye, rumored to be a 50/50 mixture of Medley Distillery (Owensboro) and Cream of Kentucky (Old Bernheim) distillate. These stocks were tanked in the early 2000s and represent the final era before the transition to Buffalo Trace-produced rye.
