This 8 year "Very Old" was distilled and barreled in 1961—under Pappy's leadership and supervision—and contains 100 percent Stitzel-Weller distillate. This was Distilled 4 years prior to Pappy's death.

While regular Old Fitzgerald, Weller Special Reserve and other brands were the bulk of production for Stitzel-Weller, Very Old Fitzgerald was considered their premium line from the late-1940s through the early-1980s.
