The Wild Turkey 8 Year 101 Proof from the early 1970s is a celebrated piece of bourbon history. Bottled under the stewardship of Austin Nichols & Co., this release became a standard-bearer for classic American whiskey. The front label, featuring the iconic wild turkey illustration, is a hallmark of the brand’s heritage. Throughout the 1970s, Wild Turkey 101 established a loyal following among enthusiasts for its bold presence and unwavering quality. The eight-year age statement from this era, now rare to find, marked a time when longer aging was more common among Kentucky bourbons. Collectors value these bottles not only for their scarcity but also for their connection to a golden period of American whiskey production. The tax strip and gold foil on the neck are authentic markers of its vintage pedigree, making it a sought-after centerpiece for any serious bourbon collection.
