The 2005 William Larue Weller is a standout release from Buffalo Trace’s Antique Collection, marking one of the early chapters in this acclaimed series. Named for the pioneering distiller who championed wheat in bourbon mash bills, this bottle honors Weller’s legacy with its unfiltered, high-proof presentation. The 2005 release, bottled at 121.9 proof, quickly gained a reputation among collectors for its bold character and limited availability. Each annual release in the Antique Collection is highly anticipated, but the 2005 bottling holds special historical significance as one of the expressions that helped solidify BTAC’s place in the world of collectible American whiskeys. Its elegant bottle and distinctive script make it a visually memorable addition to any collection, and its story is intrinsically linked to the resurgence of interest in wheated bourbons during the early 2000s.
