William Larue Weller is a cornerstone of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, honoring the legacy of its namesake, a 19th-century whiskey pioneer credited with championing the use of wheat in bourbon mashbills. The 2020 release marks another highly anticipated chapter for collectors, bottled uncut and unfiltered at 134.5 proof after 12 years of patient aging. Each annual release draws excitement for its limited availability and connection to the heritage of wheated bourbon, a style favored by Weller himself. The sleek, tall bottle with its distinctive gold script and red accents evokes both tradition and exclusivity, making it a coveted centerpiece for enthusiasts. The 2020 vintage reflects the ongoing reverence for Weller’s contributions to bourbon history, offering a link between past innovation and modern appreciation within the world of American whiskey.
