Are there auction reserves?
No. There are no reserves on any of our auctions, every auction you see here will be No Reserve.
What are the costs beyond my bid?
Costs to consider when placing a bid are the Buyer's Premium, Sales Tax, and Shipping. These numbers are calculated and displayed when choosing your maximum bid amount to help you better determine an all-in price on your auction item. Shipping is determined by delivery address and contents of an entire order so it is not calculated until checkout, but it is the negotiated rate returned from our shipping provider.

Grid View vs List View
When using your phone and browsing our products you have two options for how the retail and auction listings are displayed. The Grid View is the larger product card featuring a bigger image size and has more information packed into the listing. This display also allows you to add to your Watchlist and launch the bid window directly from the product card.

The List View is the default for a mobile device allowing you to browse our listings with less scrolling needed. It displays enough relevant information to shop our inventory, but this view does not have the ability to launch the bidding window or add an item to your Watchlist directly from the product card. Clicking the item you are interested in will take you to the product page to view all the item details, place a bid, add to your Watchlist, or add a retail listing to your shopping cart.

How do I know if I am winning?
As long as you are logged in you will see visual indicators of your status on any auction item you are bidding on. When using the Grid View to browse auction items you will see a badge next to the lot number signaling if you are winning or have been outbid.

If you are viewing auctions using the List View, any auction item you are participating in will have either a red or green border to indicate if you are the leading bidder (green) or if you have been outbid (red).

What is a maximum bid?
You tell the system your top price (Maximum Bid), and the system bids on your behalf, only as much as is needed to keep you in the lead, up to that limit. Your max bid is kept private and any bids placed against you will automatically move your bid up to the next increment needed to keep you as the leading bidder. You will get a notification via email if your maximum bid has been surpassed and you are no longer the winning bidder. You can always increase your maximum bid if needed.
All bids are final
All bids placed on Whiskey Source auctions are final. They cannot be canceled, reduced, or reverted. When you hit the confirm button you are locked into that maximum bid amount. There is a safeguard in place that may trigger if you post an amount much higher than expected for the auction. This will give you a warning before committing your bid to the auction item.

How do I quickly find my auctions?
On desktop, clicking the Account in the heading of the website you will see an option labeled "Bidding" to take you to the list of auction items you are participating in.

On mobile, launching the main menu, by clicking the three lines on the right side of the website header, will display the link for "My Bidding" and you will also see the "Bidding" link under "My Account". Both links will take you to a list featuring only the auction items you are participating in.
