Colonel E.H. Taylor Cured Oak Bourbon (2015) stands as a unique release from Buffalo Trace, celebrating the legacy of one of bourbon’s most influential pioneers. This bottling pays homage to the innovative spirit of Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., who helped shape modern bourbon laws and quality standards. The “Cured Oak” name refers to the barrels used: American oak staves that were air-cured for 13 months—far longer than the industry norm—before being assembled into barrels. This extended curing process was designed to highlight the influence of seasoned wood on maturation. Released in 2015 at 100 proof and bearing the distinctive Bottled-in-Bond designation, this limited edition is an essential piece for collectors and enthusiasts seeking a link to bourbon’s rich heritage and experimental tradition. The stately tube and bottle design further emphasize its historical inspiration and exclusivity.
