Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu The U.S Edition ‘Peated’ (2020) is a highly sought-after release from the innovative Chichibu Distillery, founded by Ichiro Akuto in Japan’s Saitama Prefecture. This special bottling was crafted exclusively for the U.S. market, highlighting Chichibu’s growing international reputation among collectors. Established in 2008, Chichibu quickly rose to prominence for its small-batch, hands-on approach and its embrace of both tradition and experimentation. The 2020 U.S. Edition features peated malt, a nod to classic Scottish styles, but expresses the unique terroir of Japanese whisky. With only a limited number of bottles produced, this edition is prized for its rarity and as a snapshot of Chichibu’s ongoing influence on the new wave of Japanese whisky distilling. The clean, monochrome label and box underscore the modern yet respectful aesthetic of this collectible release.
