Old Forester’s 12 Year Birthday Bourbon has become a highly anticipated annual release, launched each September to celebrate the birthday of the brand’s founder, George Garvin Brown. The 2016 edition, bottled at 97 proof, continues this tradition, drawing from barrels filled in 2004. With only a limited number of bottles produced, each release quickly attracts both collectors and long-time fans of the distillery. The bottle’s distinctively squat, rounded shape and celebratory labeling make it instantly recognizable and a standout on the shelf. Old Forester, known as America’s first bottled bourbon, honors its rich legacy with each Birthday Bourbon edition, offering a snapshot of the brand’s storied past and the evolving nature of Kentucky bourbon. The 2016 release remains a coveted addition for enthusiasts, valued for both its history and scarcity.
