The Thomas H. Handy Barrel Proof Sazerac Rye from the 2012 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) celebrates the legacy of one of New Orleans’ legendary bartenders, Thomas H. Handy, who played a pivotal role in popularizing the Sazerac cocktail. Bottled at 132.4 proof, this rye is released annually in limited quantities, making each vintage highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike. The 2012 release stands out as part of the early BTAC era, a period when the series was cementing its reputation for delivering bold, uncut rye whiskeys. With its tall, elegant bottle and distinctive labeling, this edition pays homage to a storied past while representing a key chapter in modern American whiskey history. The 2012 bottling remains a prized acquisition, reflecting both the enduring heritage of rye whiskey and the prestige of Buffalo Trace’s antique lineup.
