The Old Rip Van Winkle "Old Time Rye" was distilled in 1985 at Medley in Owensboro, Kentucky.

It was bottled at 90 proof instead of the later releases at 95.6 or 100.

The Lawrenceburg marked label indicates this was bottled at Old Commonwealth by Julian Van Winkle III. All rye bottlings prior to mid-2002 were packaged there. Aging and bottling switched to Frankfort after the brand entered a joint venture with Buffalo Trace.
