Old Charter Oak ‘French Oak’ Barrel Aged Bourbon is part of Buffalo Trace’s innovative Old Charter Oak series, which explores how different oak varieties impact bourbon over time. Released in 2021, this Kentucky Straight Bourbon matured in barrels crafted from French oak sourced from the forests of France—a departure from the American oak typically used in bourbon aging. The bottle’s distinctive label features elegant woodcut imagery, emphasizing the focus on oak influence. Bottled at 92 proof, this limited-edition release offers collectors a glimpse into the global reach of bourbon maturation techniques, honoring both tradition and experimentation. The Old Charter Oak series pays homage to the historical role of oak in whiskey making, and the French Oak expression stands out for its international inspiration, inviting enthusiasts to experience the diversity that different wood can impart.
